A Good Hair Day

It may seem a little late as far as childhood milestones go, but we finally had that first haircut.
The whole hair thing, it’s something we’ve been working on for a couple years now. Like her toddler mother before her she is completely deficient in this area. Fine, white tufts shooting off in every direction, the kind of hair made famous by the likes of Albert Einstein, Tina Turner, Professor Corey (I have no idea who the last one is but according to Grandma Jane he also fit’s the bill.) Hair only a mother and father could love. But with the unruly flyaways increasing, even we couldn’t call it ‘cute’ anymore and we decided it was time. And not something we could do ourselves, with any respectable result anyway. Truth be told, we did pull it back a couple days before and cut the tail, but that just made the whole situation worse.
It was no longer a cute natural mess, it was a parent induced mess.
And so we went to Cool Cuts 4 Kids. Skeptical at first, why pay more for what could probably be done in seconds, but boy do they have it down. Simple but ingenious. Fun chairs that look like cars, eye level TVs to watch movies or cartoons of the child’s choice and no mental or physical scars. Perfect. Worth every one of the $13 it cost. Even set us up with a keepsake of a bit of  baby hair sealed in a tiny baggie and a certificate and a lollypop. Didn’t even make an appointment. Done and done. We may still be waiting on hair length, but at least in the meantime our baby is looking 'so fresh and so clean.'
