A New Chapter

  Believe it or not, Toddlerado has survived despite the fact Court and I have opposite schedules. He works the standard Monday through Friday 8-5 and I have worked retail management hours which require me to work all but one Saturday and two Sundays a month. It was the main reason I started this project, other than my love for writing and taking pictures,  it was meant to give us extra motivation to make the most of those precious days that are too few and too far between.
  And I am very proud to say, we did. And I know we could continue to make it work if we had to. But we didn’t want to.
  Now a new chapter begins… This marks my first week out of a store and into an office allowing us more time together as a family. Switching careers was a year long journey that often felt like a second job, but now that it has finally happened I can truly say it was worth the time, effort, frustration, disappointment, excitement and anticipation. I have finally exhaled.
For something that has consumed half of Layla’s life, funny to think she will not have any memory of it. That was my goal. I didn’t want to constantly disappoint her that I couldn’t be there. And when she is school age, which will happen before we know it, my days and mornings off with her during the week would be null and void. This was the right time to make a change. No more nights, no more weekends.
And for Toddlerado? Just think of all the  adventures we can have now that we have two days off together every single week. All the events that happen on the weekends we will be able to attend. All the camping trips we can squeeze in. The possibilities are endless and I look forward to sharing them all with you.
